Teach your class to read the phase 2 high-frequency words with this fun phonics activity! Children should say the sounds as they tap the nails with a toy hammer and then blend them to read the word.
 
Tap and blend mats are provided in colour and black/white for the 31 phase 2 high-frequency words.  Tricky words are written on one nail, as they cannot be decoded at this stage.
